Integrated Health Care Clinic offers a wide spectrum of alternative health care services including Craniosacral Therapy.

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive hands-on method that works with the cranial respiratory mechanism or primary respiration mechanism. It is concerned with the inherent motility of the central nervous system, fluctuation of the cerebro-spinal fluid, mobility of the intracranial and intraspinal-dural membranes (protectors of the brain and spinal cord), mobility of the cranial bones and mobility of the sacrum between the ilea (making up the pelvis).

How Does Craniosacral Therapy Work?

It is used to find and release areas of restriction, re-educate old holding patterns, and calm stressed systems and over stimulated nerves. Using a soft touch, generally no greater than 5 grams of pressure, the doctor releases restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functions of the central nervous system

How was Craniosacral Therapy developed?

Cranial therapy was originated by osteopathic doctor William Sutherland (1873-1954). Craniosacral therapy was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John Upledger, who continues to be dedicated to research and education through his institute in Florida.

What Does Craniosacral Therapy feel Like?

Generally, the recipient of craniosacral therapy experiences a release of tension, deep relaxation and a sense of well-being following treatment.

What Conditions does Craniosacral Therapy Treat?
